Since this month’s Radio Rehab is the Dance Therapy Edition we figured we would let some grownheadz share their favorite old school dance. Just do you know Radio Rehab is Thursday, August 16 at the Neighborhood Theater in NoDa.
During the last Radio Rehab we asked a simple qustion “Which rappers do you think would do good on Jeopardy”. You can get in on the fun too. The next Radio Rehab is Thursday July 19 at the Neighborhood Theater. Check the Radio Rehab Charlotte website here for more info
(from McGriff’s people)
Riff Raff McGriff is the latest hip-hop star to emerge out of Oxnard, California. Newly signed to Declaime and Georgia Anne Muldrow’s label, SomeOthaShip, the emcee is poised to follow in the footsteps of fellow “Ox City” artists Madlib, Oh No and Wildchil. With a range of music spanning between wacky and wise, Riff Raff McGriff, one seventh of the Oxnard collective Epsilon Project, has just released his new mixtape, Because I’m Wack, in anticipation of his upcoming solo LP, Grin, scheduled to be released Spring 2012.
As we check out the story of Heavy D’s passing we see things about this song and that. Quite honestly his biggest hit “Now That We Found Love” was just aight. It was never the party rocker or got the love that these OTHER 5 songs did.
We Got Our Own Thang (12-inch Mix)
When I was rockin parties at Hampton this was the version I played. In fact this is the version everybody played at the party or the club.
Overweight Lover’s In The House
You Can’t See What I See
Hands down one of his hardest songs. It’s Resident Alien’s favorite Hev song.
Big & Broad
Heavy D was one of the few rappers who made dancehall records that were actually pretty good. You could really play this at a reagae club and not get booed. This songs features two dancehall legends Supa Cat and Frankie Paul. Too bad there is no REAL video for the song.
