Since Common’s new movie with Queen Latifah is opening today we figured the time was right to drop this gem. We had this conversation a few months ago but hey why not capitalize on an opurtunity. ANYway we discuss what might be keeping Common from TRULY being the best he can be. By the way we got LOTS of love for Com. We ain’t hatin we just talkin.

I’ve thought about this and I know why Common never hit it big, – What he lacks is swagger.
His concepts are good, delivery is crisp, if a bit wooden and the production value of his songs has jumped leaps and bounds, but he never brags about it in an over the top way.
When I think of the one’s considered at the top of their game, Kanye, Lil Wayne, etc., while not always on point, they act like it and commit to it, and dare you to tell them they are not. They will risk it all. Common does not, and until he does, he will always be in the shadow of giants.
